Our approach to family privacy
SavvySaver helps parents teach kids ages 6–12 about allowance, saving, chores, and goals. A parent creates and manages the family account. Kids use parent-created profiles and do not need to provide an email address.
Information we collect
We process information needed to provide and secure SavvySaver:
- Account information, including a parent or relative’s name, email address, sign-in details, and family membership.
- Kid profile information supplied by a parent, such as a name, username, birth date, avatar, and login credentials.
- Family activity, including virtual balances, allowances, goals, jobs, deposits, expenses, gifts, and settings.
- Technical and usage information, including device and browser details, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, referring pages, pages viewed, features and buttons used, session timing, and performance or error events.
- Notification information when a parent enables optional browser push notifications.
SavvySaver tracks virtual money. It does not connect to a bank account or process real-world payments.
First-party analytics and service improvement
We use first-party analytics to understand how SavvySaver performs and how families use the service. We and analytics providers acting on our behalf may use first-party cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to recognize a browser or session and collect the technical and usage information described above.
We use these insights to:
- find confusing or underused parts of the service;
- improve features, navigation, reliability, and performance;
- measure whether product changes make SavvySaver more useful; and
- protect accounts, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot errors.
We do not use this information to follow kids across unrelated websites or apps, build advertising profiles, or show targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information.
How we use information
- Provide family accounts, savings tools, and educational features.
- Authenticate users and keep accounts secure.
- Send service messages and notifications selected by a parent.
- Maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and improve the service.
- Prevent misuse and comply with legal obligations.
How information is shared
We may share information with service providers that host, secure, analyze, or deliver SavvySaver; when required by law; or as part of a business transfer. Providers may process information only to perform services for us under their agreements.
Information is also shared inside a family according to each member’s role. Parents can manage family records. Kids see their own profile and activity rather than a sibling’s private account activity.
When a parent connects SavvySaver to an AI client such as ChatGPT, that client sends the parent’s selected requests to SavvySaver and receives the family information and action results needed to answer them. The connected provider handles that information under its own terms and privacy policy. Parents can disconnect the client at any time.
Kids' privacy
SavvySaver is designed for parent-directed family use. Parents create kid profiles and supervise their kids’ use. We limit kid profile information to what supports the service and do not use it for targeted advertising.
A parent may ask to review, correct, or delete information associated with their family and kid profiles through the support channel associated with their account.
Security and retention
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
- Account, kid-profile, and family activity records are kept while the family account is active.
- In-app notifications are kept for up to six months, then deleted.
- Technical, analytics, performance, and security records are kept for up to 12 months unless a longer period is needed to investigate abuse or meet a legal obligation.
- After a verified deletion request or account closure, we delete or deidentify covered information from active systems within 30 days. Residual copies expire through the normal backup cycle within 90 days.
We may keep limited information longer when required by law, needed to resolve a dispute, or necessary to protect SavvySaver and its users.
Your choices, changes, and contact
Parents can update family information in the app and disable optional push notifications in account settings. You may also request access, correction, or deletion through our support form.
We may update this policy as SavvySaver changes. We will update the date on this page and provide additional notice when appropriate. Please also review our terms of service.
